TRIAL OF FORMER RTS DIRECTOR RESUMES

BELGRADE, May 14, 2002 - The trial of former Radio Television Serbia director Dragoljub Milanoviæ resumed Monday with the testimony of RTS representative Danica Gavriloviæ. Milanoviæ is charged with jeopardizing general security and of responsibility for the deaths of sixteen RTS employees during the NATO bombing. Roads Directorate requests investigation BELGRADE, May 14, 2002- The head of the Serbian Roads Directorate, Tihomir Timotijeviæ, has asked the Committee for the Protection of Journalists to launch an investigation into "Blic News" editor Zeljko Cvijanovic. Timotijevic asked the committee investigate accusations by Cvijanovic that the Directorate is trying to manipulate the media. In his letter to the Committee head Dragan Janjiæ, Timotijevic said the fact such accusations were being echoed by the Democratic Party of Serbia give a new, political dimension, to the entire case.
