Airing might start today

City Council granted 1,5 million dinars to Radio Sombor

Sombor, April 8, 2011 (Danas) - City Council showed good will toward helping the Radio Sombor by granting 1.500.000 dinars to this station. With that money, Radio Sombor will be able to unblock the account, pay the electricity bill and start airing the program again, which could happen even today, said Andrija Penzes, the President of the Managing Board of the Radio Sombor.

In order to stabilize the situation in this media outlet with a regional frequency, appointment of new director and editor-in-chief is needed apart from other steps that should be undertaken for its full recovery. Provincial authorities have announced financial support in the amount of 1,5 million while the Republic is expected to help by granting 2 million dinars. Other plans are related to opening  a correspondent office of RTV Vojvodina, engaging new staff, linking the years of employment of the employees as well as enabling them to apply for social programs.
