Public information in line with minority rights

Novi Pazar, March 11, 2011. (Danas) - Media: between commercialization and state aid - how to enable minorities' rights on quality informing and freedom of expression - was the main topic discussed by the representatives of media from this region, NGOs and citizens in Novi Pazar. The aim of the discussion was to answer if and how Bosniaks exercised their right on quality informing and freedom of expression in current circumstances in the media sector. The participants in the discussion agreed that national minorities had right on quality informing from local to national level. Introductory speakers were Dragana Nikolic-Solomon, OSCE Mission to Serbia, Sasa Mirkovic, ANEM, Zuzana Serences, NDNV and Goran Karadzic, RRA. The discussion organized in Novi Pazar is the first out of four round tables organized by OSCE Mission in Serbia and BIRN.
