KIKINDSKE NOVINE EDITOR IN COURT

KIKINDA, May 9, 2002 - Kikindske novine editor Zeljko Bodrozic appeared again today before the municipal court in Kikinda on libel charges filed by Dmitar Segrt, the general director of Toza Markovic. Judge Smilja Saric rejected a defence request to admit the report of the Vojvodina Parliament Commission as evidence. The report finds that the Toza Markovic made two payments into a bank account held by the local branch of the Socialist Party of Serbia, during the time when Segrt was president of the branch. The judge also accused a defence request for a subpoena of payment records made by the company.
