CITY AUTHORITIES CONFIRM: NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN BEDALOV CASE

Subotica, June 2, 2011 (Danas) - The election procedure of director of Radio Subotica it is about to end. As this media announced, its Managing Board proposed Acting Director Toni Bedalov for the top position. He was appointed Acting Director from the position of the head spokesman for the mayor and the head of his press service. The only counter-candidate competing for the position of general manager of the city's main radio station was Ljubisa Stepanovic, journalist of Suboticke novine.

Radio Subotica Managing Board decided on Bedalov appointment, after having requested an opinion from the city administration about a possible conflict of interest in his case, since he have owned a private marketing agency "Tauer" until recently. The city administration has given its opinion and confirmed that Toni Bedalov may well be appointed as director of public company Radio Subotica, since the management rights of his company have been transferred to another person. MB decision needs yet to be confirmed by the City Assembly.
