KURIR ON SOLID GROUND

Among the major print media, the newspapers Politika, Dnevnik, NIN i Press ended last year with losses.

Belgrade, May 12, 2011 (Danas) - According to the financial reports filed by the print media to the Center for Solvency in the Business Registers Agency for 2010, over the past year, dailies Kurir and Vecernje Novosti have radically improved their financial situation, while weekly NIN has recorded drastic drop. Daily Danas has analyzed the financial reports of the 10 key print media, according to which Kurir and Vecernje Novosti have gone from companies with losses to profitable ones, while NIN has lost all its capital, recording zero, much like dailies Dnevnik and Press, under total capital entry. Kurir has increased the number of employees for more than ten times, Press has halved its number of employees, while daily Politika has also significantly decreased its number of staff.
