40 JOURNALISTS AND MEDIA STAFF KILLED IN 2014

1.7.2014 (UNS, by K.K.) - According to the information of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), 40 journalists and media staff were killed around the world this year.


The largest numbr of journalists and media staff were killed in Pakistan - 9 of them, followed by Ukraine where 6 colleagues were killed. Five journalists and media staff lost their lives in Syria and five in Iraq. Four were killed in Central African Republic, and two in each of the following countries: Somalia, Honduras and Afganistan. One was killed in each of these countries: Brasil, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt and Lybia.
