ANEM WELCOMES THE RBA COUNCIL DECISION TO RECOMMEND TO THE GOVERNMENT EXEMPTION FROM PAYMENT OF BROADCASTING FEES FOR TV AND RADIO STATIONS FROM FLOODED AREAS

Belgrade, May 20, 2014 - RBA Council, on its extraordinary meeting on Monday, decided to asks the Government of the Republic of Serbia for concurrence for exemption from paying fees for broadcast radio and television programs for a period of one year for 85 local and regional broadcasters located in areas most affected by floods.

ANEM joins the RBA appeal that this initiative be supported by the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications and collective organizations for copyright and related rights (SOKOJ, OFPS and PI), bearing in mind the importance of timely, objective, and accurate reporting, which becomes all the more important during a time of emergency caused by the floods.
