INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN 10th ANEM MONITORING ROUND TABLE

Dear Madam/Sir,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to take part at 10th ANEM round table "Legal Monitoring of the Serbian Media Scene" where 10th ANEM electronic Monitoring Publication will be presented. The round table will be held on 20 October 2014 (Monday) at UNS Press Center, Belgrade, starting at 13.00.

The event is organized within ANEM project "Legal Monitoring of the Serbian Media Scene", financially supported by the Civil Rights Defenders and the Open Society Foundation, Serbia.

The event will gather representatives of media/journalists' associations, judiciary, non-governmental organizations, responsible authorities, media experts and other interested parties.

In the first part of the round table, the Publication will be presented by its authors. In the following part, the participants will discuss the topics analyzed in the Publication and current media issues in Serbia.

10th ANEM electronic Monitoring Publication is published on the ANEM website here.

The Publication features these articles:

  •  Introduction - with summarized results of the legal monitoring of the Serbian media scene in the period January-September 2014 and a short overview of the Publication's contents
  • New Media Laws - Achievements and Future Challenges - by Slobodan Kremenjak, attorney-at-law
  • The Right to be Forgotten - Six Months of the Implementation of the ECJ Judgment - by Miloš Stojković, law office „Živković&Samardžić", Belgrade
  • The Financing of Media - by Nemanja Nenadić, program director of "Transparency Serbia"
  • • Dilemmas Related to Recording and Releasing Footage from Criminal Trials - by Siniša Važić, Judge of the Appellate Court in Belgrade

and the 5th article, as a special addition:

  • European Court of Human Rights - Information Notes on the Court's Case-Law - short overview of two judgments of this court pertaining to the application of Article 10 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: the first judgment pertains to the violation of freedom to impart and receive information, while the second one pertains to the violation of freedom of expression.
